“Je boîte” is a wordplay in French: if you say it, it means “I limp”, if you write it down, it means “I, the box”. The accent on the “I” changes the meaning, but not the pronunciation.
“Je boîte” is a wordplay made by a foreigner who limps on unknown streets.

Surrounded by boxes and packs, the character experiences a moment of conflict with herself. She organizes, hesitates, collects things in the boxes, stumbles. She cannot help thinking the same thought over and over again, and this though takes the form of a bottle of pills. See plays with/gets lost in the thought… did she take them?

“Je boîte” is a story of one of those moments when you just get stuck. Indeed, those moments are not rare. Those moments when we maunder in our lives as foreigners, not knowing where to go anymore. We no longer have a place to go. We make a fuss without going further. We stumble, we limp.

“Je boîte” develops like a dream, where a single moment is stretched out. This performance, which is based on movement, acting, masks, puppets, sound and music, will make us question our own identities.

MalaStrana is a visual theatre company: the tools of its language are images, sounds, gestures and figures, the sequence of which follows the logic of association, the logic of dreams or nightmares.
